Basic troubleshooting

The world isn't perfect. Sometimes things just don't work the way they should — and our website is no different. While we are pretty confident that our web experts have made a pretty reliable website, we understand that hiccups can happen from time to time. If you can't place an order or get into your account, try these quick fixes and we promise you'll be up and running in no time.

Clear the cookies, cache and history of your browser

Your browser has a folder in which certain items that have been downloaded are stored for future use. These saved items might affect the website performance, and they are called the cookies and cache, if you are running into issues with our website clearing them is really important!

Chrome Safari Firefox
  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right of Chrome, click the three vertical dots.
  3. In the menu click "More Tools" and then select "Clear Browsing Data."
  4. Select "All time" from the time range drop-down menu
  5. Next to "Browsing history", "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes.
  6. Click Clear data.

Use a private browsing window

We’ll spare you the nerdy details on why this can fix issues, but basically opening our site in incognito allows you to access our website without using a lot of memory...which could be the cause of all this trouble!

Chrome Safari Firefox
  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right of Chrome, click the three vertical dots.
  3. Click "New Incognito Window."

Hop onto a different browser like Chrome, Firefox or Safari

We’ve all got our favourite browser, but sometimes you have to take off those rose tinted glasses and see your browser for what it is — imperfect. The best thing to do when a webpage isn't playing ball is to just hop on over to another browser (any will do, the world is your oyster)!

If you're using a mobile device, try placing your order using a computer

Smartphones are smart...but computers are smarter. A great first step when things are going wrong is to try again on a computer.

If you're still running into trouble after these steps you can always email us at wedo@whogivesacrap.org and we'll see what else we can work out from our end.
